There are no cats, but the fractured dimensions tend to have slightly better loot scattered around. As the game will tell you, take the time to explore here a bit. Once dead, you will leave the facility and end up on a path heading towards the Dimensional Breach. The Chromatus will also be very handy here, as you can dive him with reckless abandon while it is active. Aska is weap to guns and darkness, and he doesn't hit terribly hard, so if you stay in his face you can kill him quickly. Inside here is a boss, however he is quite easy. Once you reach the final room, activate the computer to engage maintenance, allowing you access to the central room. Make sure to make room 2 breathable, then come back and switch it to 3. There is a room before them where you can interact with a computer and change the atmosphere in each one. This area is fairly straight forward, however you will notice that doors 2 and 3 might be blocked. The first should be 8778, then Plantation door 2 is 7654, and door 3 will be 8708. The passwords are used to open each Plantation door. Before leaving, make sure to interact with his body to grab his keycard and some password numbers. Eventually you will knock him and and be able to proceed. This poker game is much easier to “complete” than Tales of Vesperia‘s, I’ll tell you that much.Once you reach the plant, a scene will play with Alvin talking to his family member. Def and Psyche Muzét has the least Vitality and Jude has the least Dexterity. Atk, and Intelligence (she’d take umbrage with that) Milla has the least P. Rowen has the least HP and Strength Alvin has the least TP Leia has the least AC, A. Def and Psyche and Leia has the most Agility. Atk and Defense Rowen has the most TP, A, Atk, Intelligence, and Dexterity Gaius and Jude have the most AC Jude has the most Defense, while Gaius has the most Vitality Elize has the most A. The characters specialize in beating certain types of monsters, so no one will be relegated to the backseat.Īlvin has the most HP, P. Some players dislike how you have to play through the whole game just to unlock this.ĭespite how these stats may look, the game doesn’t feel imbalanced. Ludger’s lines are actually voiced in New Game Plus. But they should have been better to celebrate the series’ 15 th anniversary. Both Xillia games are solid B-tier Tales games. The moral issues of the fractured dimensions versus the prime dimension are skirted up against, but mostly swept under the rug.ĭespite the storytelling weaknesses, I still give a slight edge to Xillia 2. It feels like it would make more sense if Origin’s trial fell under the purview of a special government task force that Ludger and the others could easily have joined, but the governmental aspects of Xillia‘s worldbuilding were sorely lacking.īisley becoming so spiteful with his wish at the end comes out of nowhere. I feel that Xillia 2 suffers from a lack of a proper response to Origin’s trial why is it just under the purview of the Spirius Corporation when it involves the fate of all mankind? Then again, the more people that get involved, the messier it would be, and informing the public would cause mass panic. Xillia lacks strong themes compared to the best Tales games. Julius murdering a bunch of people doesn’t really affect the rest of the story. I’ll just say that there are sibling relationships in other Tales games that have more payoff. Admittedly, his relationship with Ludger is kind of emotional, but overall, it’s yet another aspect where Xillia‘s story comes up short. His helping hand in Exodus’ slaughter isn’t addressed at all. It kind of puts a damper on the should-be emotional moment of his sacrifice. It doesn’t help that I forgot how he killed men, women, and children on the train at the beginning of the game until I started recapping. Speaking of which, Julius is a less successful character than Fractured Milla. However, some feel that Xillia 2 is too dark compared to the first game, with no justification. Fractured Milla’s death is probably the emotional height of the Xillia saga. That’s more than anything that happened in the first game. Milla died – an alternate version of her, but still Milla, whose existence was just as valid as the main Milla’s. The edgier and darker character chapters are my favorites of those. I still like ToX2 better because, as sadistic as it sounds, the game is more willing to hurt its characters. Going back to ToX2 after a few years is more complicated than I thought it would be, because ToX improved in my eyes slightly after reviewing it. I like to think that Elle is still out there. As a result, you collect a lot of meaningless junk. I kind of miss giving items to shops to level them up, though that would have been repetitive too. It reuses most of the environments from ToX. I do feel that ToX2 is superior to Tales of Xillia, especially in terms of story, but it does retread a lot of ground.
